Recently I began taking a class on developing and deepening my intuition, and have been diligently practicing, because it’s so much fun to do. And, over and over again, no matter what I ask, I keep getting the answer, “what do you want?” or some variation of it. It seems as if the unseen is asking me to stop dithering about asking for guidance and define for myself what I want.
I’m finding that surprisingly hard to do. Things are pretty good in my life at the moment, and I developed the majority of my life skills through pain and suffering. Defining what I want to create in my life when everything is already good stumps me. You might be able to relate to this – and if so, I’m inviting you to try out one of the processes from Abraham-Hicks, Ask and it is Given: the creative workshop.
It’s easy, and I’m going to be doing this right alongside you. Grab four pieces of paper, a writing implement, and a clock or timer. Assign each blank page a topic- my body, my home, my relationships, my work- and label it.
Set a timer for twenty minutes (they recommend 15-20 min, and I selected 20 for this first time to account for the learning curve.) I found this to be enough time to feel a little bit pressured, which helps me to not overly think about my answers.
Starting with the “My Body” page, write, “this is what I desire regarding my body.” Then list out three to five things. These were mine:
I want to be able to dance to the fullest.
I want to allow my body to reach her natural weight.
I want to be clothed in wildly beautiful, soft fabrics.
I want to be full of energy and vitality.
Once you have your desires, you’re going to take each desire and then write out three to five reasons why you want that. An example for me:
I want to be able to dance to the fullest.
…because I want to be able to express the whole of who I am.
…because it feels so joyful.
…because it releases old energy.
…because it lets me be fully present.
Once you’re done with all of your desires for your body, move on to your home, then your relationships, then your work, using the same process.
And that’s it. You don’t have to do anything further – just allowing yourself to recognize your real desires is usually enough to start moving towards them.
You, like me, might find that there are trends at the heart of what you want. Full expression of my soul was one of them. Releasing old energy and energy that is not mine was another.
What do you desire? Post a comment below and share one of the themes that runs at the heart of all of them.
